My new setup is relatively new. It is a 75 gallon sps tank in the making that has been running for a little over 6 months. All coral go through some type of dip before introduced to the aquarium and all fish are QT'ed. I started with all dry rock and all dry sand. But I introduced cheato algae in my fuge with no dipping or QT method. Now I am experiencing an insane explosion in what I think is some type of pod population. They are roughly the size of a grain of sand (maybe larger), and they are roundish and walk around on the glass and rocks. My montipora digita coral is COATED in the little white bugs and the rock surrounding it is also heavily infested. Are they feeding on it, or do I just have so many it is a coincidence they are mostly concentrating around that coral? Also is it possible I have some pest other than a pod? If I could take a picture I would, but I dont have a camera powerful enough and I cant find any pictures online in any hitch hiker guides that really look like the roundish bugs I see.
Thank you!

Those are the best pictures I can get like I said, I dont have a good camera. But the coral was bleached and is starting to come back, but then the pink flesh is strarting to recede as you can see, and the red circles are the most focused, but they are all over the coral. I would say well over 2 dozen of them. And every single one of those white specks on the glass is also the pods

Acropora bugs. There are red ones, black ones, white ones.

Research the use of "interceptor" to kill them. I'd post so links on it's use, but I've got my hands full right now at home. Sorry.

yup just watched some videos, and the acropora bugs definitely looks to be what i'm dealing with due to the way they move. They run around like bugs instead of doing the twitching movement pods typically do. So all those specks on the glass are acropora bugs as well or are the bugs only on the coral and the glass is most likely pods?

Not sure, but one thing is for sure, you need to treat the tank to kill them or they will kill off your acro's.

I swear every single time I get back into this hobby something catastrophic happens, I lose a ton of money and get out of the hobby. Then come back and the horrible cycle repeats. How long do you think I have until my corals are all dead? Since I cant just run to the store and grab the interceptor.

Yes, those are not Pods.

Time to dip, and acquire a 6 lined or melanuras wrasse

I qt for roughly 6 weeks so I cant just run out and grab a wrasse unfortunately. But I do however have interceptor at my house currently for my dog. They are chewables so ill just crush it up and throw it in. I do have cleaner shrimp though so I guess ill just QT them for a month then throw them back in?
