A lot of the corals will produce a slime coat to protect them.

I’ve seen this in documentaries. It’s quite common, although I have yet to see it myself.

Par readings use to see similar in Okinawa. Tide pools with coral soft and sps baby maximas where temperatures would get up bath water then drop to about 80 when the tide rolled in.
