Hello. Yesterday I had a battery powered LED motion light sensor fall into my tank and release chemicals everywhere. The fish are all fine but all my corals look very irritated and have shrunken to sizes I didn't know was possible. I have carbon in the tank now and I am about to do a 20 gallon water change.

My tank is 75 gallons with a 25/30 gallon sump.

What should I be doing? I cant lose these corals

Multiple big water changes, running lots of carbon and poly filters are my go to method for such emergencies, Sorry for your losses

Yes with the poly filter. Teardown if you can replace all the stuff for under $50. Otherwise ICP test and see if there is metal from the batteries or any random thing in there. Let your skimmer run, add carbon, add polyfilter if you like. Wait for the test to come back and decide from there. The other options should hold you over.

I honestly might use this as a fresh start. Im thinking about getting a RSR 425.

That is a beautiful tank. I have never regretted going bigger.

I do like to find the cause of a crash before I move forward just to know what to look for in the future. It also makes me feel like I have won and am moving forward rather than lost and starting over.

Check in if you get the new tank and do a build thread. I would like to see how it comes together.
