Corals dying ?

So my red trumpet has been losing color since a few weeks ago and it looks like something has been eating it. I’m not exactly sure what I can do to fix this. My leather coral also has been bent over about the same time I’ve noticed problems with my trumpet. Anyone have any suggestions?

Salinity: 1.026 KH/Alk: 15
Nitrate: 0 Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0 pH: 7.8
Calcium: 500 Phosphate: 0.25

In the tank (40 gallon) I have 2 clowns, diamond goby, 2 crabs, lawnmower blenny, cleaner shrimp, royal gramma, fire fish, feather duster and a Duncan coral (that also stopped extending).

Did you measure your alkalinity in DKH, if so, I think that might be the issue. I haven't heard of anyone keeping their dkh at 15.

Alk is high. Phosphate is high. Nitrate is low.

What test kits are you using? With 15 alk there is no way you can have 7.8 ph.
I never heard of anyone going over 11 alk.

Testing alk is new to me. Not exactly sure how to fix that.

Could be those causing issues, if you have a lot of people, or especially large dogs in your home they could cause low ph with a high alkalinity. Large dogs are co2 producing machines

15 ALK (if true) is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too high.

Water change if you can and run carbon. Have to get your alk down.

I would say 20-25% water change. I would hope someone who has ever ran across this issue would be able to say if getting it lowered quickly would be safe, or if this needs to go down slowly.

I don't know the effect of high Alk on non-SPS corals, but I'm pretty sure that zero nitrate and/or zero phosphate will starve most any coral to death. Are you doing anything specific to reduce your nitrate to zero?
