I have an 8 month old tank and my corals are getting paler over time. Most noticeable is my green with purple tip euphyllia. It just to be a dark green with deep purple tips. Now I would describe it as transparent green with almost unnoticeable purple at the tip. It is happening with my softies (zoas, toadstool, etc) as well.

I am starting to worry if I have too few nutrients in the water but I have a decent amount of algae which seems counter-intuitive. My train of thought is as follows:

My bioload is not that large. I have a 70 gallon tank with 2 clowns, firefish, wrasse and a blenny. Also in the tank are 2 shrimps, an urchin, emerald crab and countless snails (they had babies). I have been battling algae. It use to be a brown fuzzy one and has lately turned green. I manually remove a large portion every week. I think its just part of the tanks maturing process.

Since I have some significant algae I have been careful what to feed. I feed half a cube of mysis every other day.

I was reading somewhere that too little nutrients in the water could lead to the colors becoming pale. This sort of makes sense to me, my water parameters are all 0. I assume this is because the algae is consuming it.

But before I start increase feeding or adding coral food I wanted to check since that could just make my algae problem worse.

Thanks for any advice!

Too much light and low nutrients are the most common issues that cause bleaching -
