Corals looking bad

If you feel bleach has crept in via the purigen then run some carbon (make sure it's not Kent's) As Ritter said, with your alk being 11-12 you are already on the high side and adding to raise your PH is continuing to add to you alk and that's why you have having a problem with your calcium. High alk might irritate the skin on your corals, do what Ritter and others have suggested, concentrate on getting alk more in the 10ish range and with the RCs you should be ok with calcium.Me personally, I'd never put something in bleach and then depend on the bleach being rinsed out. That's like putting bleach in your dishwasher and hoping the rinse cycle removes it all, but that's just my opinion

Ok, just a little confusing everything has been doing great for a while and all of a sudden something has upset some of the corals. I haven't dosed anything in a week.

Everything was fine until I added algone and regenerated my purigen

I will stop testing ph :-)

Trouble shooting would tell me that it has something to do with your algone or your purigen. If all was well until then, then I'd get that purigen out of there.

ok update, purigen was removed last night. Carbon added last night. Prime added last night and then again today.

Two out of 3 of my candy canes are shriveled and you can see the skeleton poking thru the flesh.

Prism favia all the eyes are gaping open.

War coral some eyes are wide, open as well.

Some zoas closed up.

Devils hand shriveled

Green nepathea, Kenya tree, xenia, orange star polyps, gsp, most zoas and palys, frogspawn, hammer coral, all my montis, acros, Duncan, briareum, birdsnest all seem ok so far

Don't know if the other sick corals are dead or will get better. Never had corals die before

All my fish snails hermits and other critters are ok

I noticed some bubbles on the surface the other day and then again yesterday, didn't think much about it. Is that normal?

I think you just need to do some water changes and run carbon. Remove any chemical filtration you are running for now aside from the carbon to help keep down the number of possible sources.

Here is pics

Only thing I'm running is carbon and algone and I already done about a 40% water change yesterday

Stop dosing! No dosing at all. water changes with the same salt you are using or RC is fine.

Do not dose anything unless you test and it's needed

All kinds of water parameter problems come from dosing additives when it's not needed.

Water changes with a good salt should handle your needs unless you have a lot of sps or clams.

Test often and don't add anything unless its needed.

Agreeded, I learned the hard way. I think you alk is a bit high as well I believe most like to keep it between 9-10. Just keep up with water changes, the corals seems to be very hardy ones except for zoas and should make a recovery.

The candy cane with skeleton poking thru flesh will recover?
As well as favia

They could revcover, yes. Possible.
You saw bubbles on the surface, do you have over a 4" sand bed?

No maybe a inch and a half sand bed. First time I've seen bubbles. Not much just around the edges.
