I took a trip to Canada for a week while my family watched my tank. When I can back everything seemed off my Coral's where shriveling up and 2 of my fish have died also since IV been back the past 5 days. I don't think it's ic none of my fish have spots. I think it has something to do with to much lighting or the tank being to hot for the past 3 weeks. It's been at 78 hitting 80 every once in a while. What do you think I need to do!?

Check you water perimeters and do a partial water change.

My tank hit 83 when AC went out in my house, have you tested your tank.?

Doubt its the temp.. my tank runs 78-80 year round with no problems...

Check parameters first like the others said...

Were the lights left on, did they top off with fresh water, did they over feed.

A water change as suggested is the really the best intervention currently.

I will be doing the water Change over the weekend and we'll see what happens. My anenome is smaller all the time. Don't know if there could be a disease?

You're going to wait til the weekend? Corals won't like that!

A problem affecting both fish and invertebrates is likely something environmental rather than a pathogen or parasite, and I don't think the temperature or lighting is the issue here. The temp range you cite isn't unreasonable, and overly intense lighting wouldn't kill fish (though it might keep some of them in hiding). As others have suggested, you should definitely check all your water parameters promptly to determine what's out of whack and get to that water change sooner rather than later.

I actually agree with Jeff, and I hate it when I do that. My tank ran at 83 degrees for years when I had MH lights so that is not a problem. We can't see your tank from here so it could be anything from water parameters to an Oldsmobile fender accidently falling in the tank.

Did a water change and uped my alkalinity everything is looking better
