Corals need a haircut. What to do?

Tank has been set up for 17 months. It is a 150 mixed reef. Aside from an ich outbreak and cyano issue my corals have all grown very well. I have reached the point, where things need to be fragged, but I am so hesitant to do it. I guess I just need to man up and start shearing. I have a few large leathers that really need it that ill have to do in the tank. Any sage advice?

Research attaching leathers to plugs/rubble
