Just what is in my filter padsDo you run carbon?
Is last weekend when the problems started? If the black is arag alive it's likely fine. But the neon pebbles are likely not ok for saltwater. Start picking those out.Do you think the gravel could have mess with it I just put it in there about last weekend ????
My nitrates and phosphates are at 0. I am growing all types of zoas, lps, and sps (including acros). I don't think low nutrients would cause a bubble coral to die off like that personally. Low nutrients usually negatively affect coloration in sps.Does anyone else think I should raise phos and nitrate
No problems started about 3 days ago . I didn’t like those neon pebbles anyways wife convinced me to put them in there because it said on the bag reef safe. Will pick them out as soon as possible .Is last weekend when the problems started? If the black is arag alive it's likely fine. But the neon pebbles are likely not ok for saltwater. will look in to it . I have read sea for ca,mg,alk, but the rest is apiFirst think I'd do is buy a trition icp test kit and send one off for your tank. There are so many parameters that we don't test for that could cause corals to die or close up. I had rusty screws in my system and lost most of my acros due to high tin, aluminum, Lithium, etc. Next thing I'd do is ditch API and get quality test kits such as Red Sea. You only need it for Calc, Alk, Mag, Nitrate, and Phos (probs should get some pH testers too). Or you could get your LFS to test the water. And see how those compare to your results.
Thanks for the tips everything is much appreciatedEuphillia, (bubble, torch, frogspawns, hammers) actually like the water a little "dirty". Some phosphates and nitrates are welcomed by them.
I want soMay I ask how old is your. Just thinking that it might to too new for the bubble and torch coral. They like little dirty.
say about 3.5 months. Just kinda confused because it was my best coral yet for a whole month and out of the blue it closed .May I ask how old is your. Just thinking that it might to too new for the bubble and torch coral. They like little dirty.
Yes using ro/di water for top off and no candles or spray .Okay, let's start out from the beginning. Are you using RO/DI water for top off and water changes?
Has anyone sprayed anything in the house? Air fresheners, candles burning....etc.
I would remove the colored pebbles as a safety measure as of right now.

s to ro/di water . I have an octo bh -1000 I belive the power head is 850 Gph had a dual head one when I first started but flow was to strong so I switch to the 850 corals were doing fine with it till about 3 days ago . Salinity 1.025Are you using RO/DI water to make your saltwater? What skimmer are you running? What is flow in your tank?...gph total? What specific gravity are you running your saltwater at?
No other changesWhat other changes have you made recently? Other than the colored pebbles?
