Corals receding for no reason

Possible problems:
- I moved my mandarins and they were producing slime
- I bumped my green lantern torch but it is still out but receded
- I added warm tap water with dechlorinater to decrease salinity from 1.027-1.026 to a definite 1.026

Theory:
- They want to go to sleep?

I am testing with salifert. You can view this link to the parameters. I am updating them as we speak.

I tried something and i feed the tank frozen cyclops.
The cristata has opened.
The teal hammer and the goldish hammer have opened.
The bright green hammer has not.
The green torch as not opened up completely but it has opened a bit.

The zoas are starting to close.

I wouldn’t stress too much. Corals are generally pretty hardy. These are some of my torches at night with lights out. Notice they different from each other and definitely different from day time

Yes. Mine kinda look like that. I think I was just overreacting.
I added the water like 40 minutes ago.
They opened up when I fed them but then closed again.

How would I boost pH?

If calcium is already in normal parameters 430-480 I would boost pH using sodium hydroxide. Or seachem reef builder/buffer (2 products). If calcium is also low I would use kalkwasser.

Gotcha. I will keep that in mind. I'll have to test during the day though just to make sure it is really at 7.7,

They’ll do that from time to time. Doesn’t mean much. Sometimes they even do it when they are about to poop (same opening)

That’s a good point, yes your pH has likely dropped a bit because it’s lights off.

They’ll do that from time to time. Doesn’t mean much. Sometimes they even do it when they are about to poop (same opening)

I thought the same.

I thought the mouth opening was usually eating and pooping and when something bad is going on.
I didn't know that.

Update: False alarm - everything opened up. I think I figured out why one of my hammers was bleaching. It wanted more light.
