Hi all. My 55g mixed reef is a little over a year old. Everything has been good, but Ive never seen the polyps extend fully. SPS, LPS, and Mushroom. The ambient temp here started warming up and my average water temp has gone from 78F through the winter to around 82F. Everything is open and happy now. Since most references online push the 78F optimal, I was wondering if anyone else has seen this response with temps around 82F?

my tank runs 80-81F during summer. 82 is fine. in wild corals get exposed to sun in low tide, exposed open to air and directly to sun and water temps higher than 80F.
As long as the temp changes are gradual and not sudden you will be fine.

Mine at night runs 79.2 and daytime when T5 are on 80.4 , house temp at 70 , I have never had a problem with a little higher temps. They love it.
