Corals shriveled after water change

I have 9 frags in QT. Last night I did a 30% water change. Today, my Duncan and kenya tree leather are all shriveled up. My bird's nest is out in force and looks great.

Why might that be?

Well...check your parameters. Who knows without knowing those.

Phosphate was .5 to 1 before the water change, which is why I did it. No ammonia or nitrites, 5ppm nitrate. Alk 7.9, pH 8, ca 420. Salt mix uses RO/DI, so that should be fine.

And my bird's nest is fine.

They could just be upset from the disturbance in the water.

That was my first guess, but I figured the bird's nest would be way more sensitive. Does that happen to everyone else's softies, or does everyone else know to do smaller wanted change?

My kenya tree shrivels up pretty much any time I do any thing in the tank. They are hard to kill. My first frag was a kenya tree on a hermit crab shell. The crabs would mess with that poor coral non stop.

Seems like my LPS shrivel up at just about anything ever, the SPS stay the same, though I don’t have very many.

If you just pour the buckets in over the tank making the big splash, they do this for sure.
