corals that can go next to clams?

Im saving a spot at the top of my tank for a clam soon, I was wondering what corals can go around it that wont hurt or take him over. Was thinking about mushrooms

What kind of clam are you getting and what kind of lights do you have?

Any sps other than hydnophora or any soft coral like zoas and mushrooms. Lps isnt the best just because most pack a pucnh when it comes to stinging and most have sweepers

I have an apollo led light, I plan on a t.maxima or a t. Croceae.

The placement is if you look at my picture its right where my red sea star is. Im new to corals... so that two head trumpet shape coral to left of the seas star... is it bad by a clam? On thst level the clam will be on will be mushrooms (im in the process of slowing getting more), zoas, and blue sympodium (spelling). My tank is 7 maybe 8 months old. I grow my own pods, rotifers, and phytoplankton for feeding. I have sponges and feather dusters just popping up all over the place and things seem to be thriving and splitting/growing, so I have some confidence my tank could do a clam (I hope!).

Forgive my pic of my tank... its not yet pretty, im only adding a few pieces every month. Going slow!

This is my sponge and flower pot and welsi! Sorry random but had to post them! Theyre my only non frag coral pieces I own right now!

I do have diatoms on my sand now... not sure what to do... I stir my sand daily...

I got rid of them by just lessening my light schedule nice corals by the way

I think encrusting montiporas look great around clams.

seems like any corals can 'touch' the clams' meat, without much issues.

I caught a Duncan coral with a tentacle stuck to my maxima the other day. Didn't do any damage. Other than that I've never had problems with corals stinging clams.

Here is a picture from my old clam tank I kept the RBTA used to touch the clams from time to time with out it being really irritated. My clowns actually laid eggs on that massive Derasa clam.

One more question, is it true eels and clams dont mix? I also have peppermint and skunk shrimp

I would be cautious about mixing an eel in with clams. It might work but it would depend on species of eel and also its size. Many of them would eat the clam. It might be possible to raise a baby eel on other foods and avoid clam meat as food but that is no guarantee it wont turn on the clam one day.

Nice corals! From what I have read, scoly's and clams are found together in sandbeds in the wild. Might work in a tank. I plan to put a clam next to my scolys.
