I have a 60 gallon reef aqurium cube, on it I have 2 ai primes and I use two wave makers on both sides of the tank they aren’t that strong but they provide the flow needed for the tank, my filtration is bio balls, a sponge block, filter pads, and a protein skimmer. I keep my nutrients pretty average at the nitrates at about 10 ppm and phosphates at around 0.1. all of the other elements in my tank are normal and are pretty consistent. I also recently started dosing calcium carbanator in my auto top off. I recently started putting corals in my tank within the last 5 months, I have a couple of zoas, acan, blastos, hammer, recordeas, elegance, and a toadstool leather and have 8 reef safe nano fish. The first two months my corals grew great and fast, I had only one ai prime on the tank at the time, at the third month all my corals stopped growing completely And I was trying to think of why, I recently purchased the second ai prime thinking it was lighting but nothing has changed, I haven’t even gotten my zoas to grow new polyps and in the first two months I was seeing a new polyp every week, I don’t know what it could be, does anyone know of any strange things in aquariums that stop coral growth?

Params seem good (not sure of your big 3 though). When my corals are looking healthy but growth has kind of stagnated I tend to focus on trace elements and sometimes light.

I’d try to do maybe 30-40gs of water change in a week and see if they perk up. This assumes your big 3 are in a good range.

Sometimes corals have growth spurts and lull periods that come and go in waves. I believe this stems from the growth habits of a coral. Speaking anecdotally from observation, stony corals will quickly push new heads. Then they focus both on increasing the polyp size and skeleton growth. They need to expand their skeleton to make room for new polyps. So it’s easy to misinterpret slow growth when they are on the skeleton building phase. As long as they are looking healthy then it’s probably something minor. You can also feed once a week to speed up growth.

Just curious, can you post your schedule/intensity chart for the primes?
