That is a loaded question with many answers. There are corals from the same category that will prefer different lighting levels. For example, many zoas like different light levels. There are some morphs that do extremely well in high light and some do better in lower light.

I would suggest looking into the specific corals that you are interested in keeping to determine what lighting level would be best.

Also, the lighting level will be determined by the light fixture that you are using.

Im with Krista but since we don't know specifics it's always best to start new corals at the bottom and slowly move them up if needed.

I have rainbow zoas, blue hornet, magicians, green giant chalice, rainbow echinata, eagle eye Zoa, Christmas favia, hammer coral, few acans, and acro and a few giant zoas, sunset montipora, RBTA,

My Hammer likes the bottom with some flow. I keep the more colorful zoas (like Blue Hornets) down low also. I've had a Sunset Monti since last September and I still haven't found a good place. Acans also on the lower side. Mushrooms seem to grow wherever they want.
