Are there any corals tht are similar to Anemones that’ll host a clownfish? Cuz I don’t want an anemone.

They host a good number of things. Something similar to anemones would be possibly something like torches. However, at the end of the day, they really choose what they want to host. I have bubble tip anemone and torches in this tank it it prefers my palys over all of them.

Why don't you want an anemone? Just curious.

Well a lot of ppl are making anemones seem like this hardcore coral that’s impossible to take care of. And IMO im lazy and don’t wanna take care of tht.

Some of the bubble tips that have been in the aquarium trade for years are pretty hardy. You just need to locate someone whose been propagating them.

I find them easier to keep than some of the imported wild/maricultured torches.

Torches .. hammers .. toadstools ... clowns will host your hand if you left it in long enough !!
This^^^^ Alternatively, my ceramic submarine in my QT tank is hosting my clowns, although I have heard of corals getting mighty ticked off and dying in time if they have a fish always rubbing up against them.

Mine would host my toadstool back in my 56 column years ago. I have the same clowns and the same toadstool and they won’t touch it now.

Anamones are easy too keep if you’ve got good lights and a mature enough tank .. they will feed out of the water coloum .. I never feed mine and it does just fine ...

I have been wondering the same thing, though one additional concern I have regarding BTA is their tendency to wander. I have a pretty small 15-gallon cube, so if the anemone decides it doesn't like its location, its only other option is probably to wind up in the power head. So for me the advantage of a euphyllia or an elegance is that it doesn't move around the tank, though caring for an elegance seems to be its own bag of worms (as far as I can tell, half say they are hardy and half say they are expert only with only a little relation to Indo vs Australian).

My follow-up concern is if the clowns can aggravate a coral to the point of death, where a BTA would tolerate hosting them much better? I think ideally I would find a nice torch, but it would suck for the clowns to kill it.

Any help is appreciated!

My clowns love their bubble tip anemone, when I almost killed all of my lps and sps by using vibrant, the anemone wasn't event fazed by the catastrophic event. I've found it to be one of the hardiest critters I have
Thats good to hear! Do you know if it was wild or tank propagated?

I never asked my lfs owner but most of his livestock is wild caught. It was the same anemone my clowns were already hosting in the store, I bought them the same day. I do know the clowns were captive bred however
