CoralVue ballast!!

Well, they are all nice. The arc's penetrate better for deep tanks, the brights and elite's are better for wider tanks imo.

No, Lumenarcs and Lumenmax are better for covering a larger area. The Lumenbrights and Lumenmax Elite are more focused and will give higher peak intensity numbers, thus potentially being better for deeper tanks.

As long as you're not trying to light a area larger than 24"x24" I like the Lumenbright 3 mini

You can light 36x36 beautifully with the large LB's or Lumenmax Elites. They even have better PAR numbers then the lumenarcs. Melev has a writeup on this somewhere.

Myself and JNye used his PAR meter to test this out for ourselves as well. The large LB's blew the large Lumenarc's out of the water. The Lumenmax 2 I had was also better the the Lumenarc within 24" of the pendant.

What you need depends on your application. Both Lumenbrights and the Lumenmax Elite will work for you.

One other thing, the Lumenbrights need to be mounted about 18" off the surface of the aquarium. I believe there are some newer wide versions that give a little morte spread and don't need to be mounted as high.
