I'm in the market for a new return pump and I'm looking for a second opinion on these pumps. I already have the apex and were leaning kinda heavily towards the core but I've heard a few issues about reliability, anyone that have had these pumps long term that can help me decide?

I have a used Vectra S1 ( came with the tank) running on my 60g cube. It’s very quiet, and requires very little maintenance. I clean it once every 6 months, even though it can probably go longer.

I like the Vectra. I picked it up specifically for the feed mode that, instead of turning off, reduces the speed so the thank doesn't drain back into the sump.
However I already have two MP10s and two Versas. Part of the reason I bought the Vectra was because I can control it with Mobius as opposed to having *another* app on my phone or having to learn how another controller works (and can't make heads or tails out of that controller). I'm currently up to [pulls out phone] five different apps to control various things.

I've used Vectra's and Varios pumps both great pumps.
My favorite of the 3 would be the Vectra.

You mind me asking why you prefer the vectra over the varios?
One thing I don’t like about the vectra is that it’s bolted together. That makes it feel solid, but it also means you need a wrench to open it for maintenance. I’ve been thinking about getting the varios to try out because I think it just twists open.

I've been using the Vectras since they came out and just like how quiet they operate. M1 and M2 ( x 2) , L1 and L2, and a S2
Yeah, you do need a allen wrench for the Vectra, but to me it's not a big thing.
I've only owned 2 of the Varios ( a 6s and a 4).
I guess it's just what ever you like, and price.
I don't have anything bad to say about either of them.

Thanks guys, think I'll go with the vectra, more positive feedback around this pump over the core.

My vote is Vectta if you can’t afford an Abyzz.
