Core7_2 is the calcium, right? I’m having trouble lowering the calcium. Just want to make sure the calcium is #2 of the Core7 elementz.
The instructions say;
"If you are running the Triton Method, then you can reduce the dosage from Base Elements solution No2 and monitor with a reliable home test kit. Once the measurement has dropped back down to 440 mg/l, then return the dose back to equal amounts as the other solutions."
I don’t use Base Elements, I use Core7???????????

Yes it’s number 2.

They’ve pinned a thread which is very helpful:

Alk Ok
Ca High
Mg Ok
Solution - Maintain dose on channels 1/3a/3b reduce dose of channel 2 until Calcium level drops to required amount.

I saw that. I’m old school. They use to have Base Elementz and then Core7. Are the original Base Elementz gone?
Was the Calcium in both #2 of the Base Elementz and then Core7

That is my understanding, yes. I do believe they kept the numbering the same. And they discontinued the original.

Also keep an eye on your Magnesium and make sure it doesn’t start creeping up. In my experience Scenario 4 is much more common:

Scenario 4
Alk Low
Ca Ok
Mg Ok
Solution - Maintain dose, dose additional TRITON CO3 liquid buffer/NaHCO DIY Salts to raise Alk then maintain

What’s happening here is that Alkalinity is getting used up in the nitrification process, and then if you’re running full Triton, the nitrate is getting exported via harvesting of the refugium. (Denitrification would cause the alkalinity to go back up, but in triton we export the nitrate before that happens)

So if you dose all 3 based on alkalinity, both calcium and magnesium could be rising, but it’s harder to notice the magnesium rise.

I personally have to dose the separate Triton CO3 supplement to keep things in check.
