About a year ago my dad bought me a 50 gallon starphire cube from SC aquariums with a stand and sump. Such a nice beginner setup.

A week ago I woke to water in my living room and found out it came from the ATO, not so bad but it got the wood of the stand wet, low and behold it's made of mdf and began to swell.

So the decision was made to empty the tank store the fish and corals in this

So I started my research and found a couple of tank stands I liked.

Then decided I'd like to expand my tank stand to house more "stuff" so the search started again here's my inspiration thanks to Harry

Nice! I'll subscribe

Finished the stand it's black outside and white inside, I personally think it looks like shut but my wife says it looks good. I really thought the painting wood would turn out better but now to wait for it to dry then to reinstall my tank! I miss the tank!

That ain't bad man. Looks good

Haha looks pretty good. Does it have doors

Still have some plumbing to do and attach the doors but the fish are back in the tank with sand and corals.

Finished all my plumbing last night, it's so quiet and flows so well!
Before organization

After some organizing could probably still use a bit more organizing but for now it works.

Ordering 20 lbs of live sand and the rest pink Fiji sand. Hoping to find a local with some algae to grow in my fuge.

Plumbing it for a second time had me change a lot before it was all plumbed in a line this time the fuge is theoretically separate and I can control the flow of it.

I know refugiums don't necessarily export a lot of fish waste I'm more about creating natural food pods and such for the fish and corals.

Will have a plumbed gfo Carbon reactor as well. Going to begin my journey into some sps and hopefully keep them alive, my wife loves sps but only when their big.

Any suggestions of rust resistant door mounts?

Also I currently only have 3 fish so what's your favorite fishes?

Stock currently
1 blue hippo baby
2 blue green chromis

Crabs and snails of course

Hey guys been a while since I started posted but I've got some great news, I've completed the plumbing, even finished putting on the doors, tank is quiet and beautiful once again,

The refugium currently is just a frag tank and has some rocks and sand, need to purchase some more hose for my carbon and gfo reactor other than that it's been smooth sailing.

Apex does nearly everything, I just let the feeder feed it, as well as I ad a bit of frozen daily or bi- daily, change the filter socks every 3-5 days, and empty the skimmer cup (yuck!).

All the rest of the corals are out and happy the only ones in waiting for are the GSP they've been dormant for about a week. After those come out I'll have a pretty good idea where the tank as a whole sits then to restock!

Plans for restocking,

2 clowns any type is probably good although I love the way maroons look but I also know they're vicious

3 more chromis that are yellow tailed and pinkish

3 more regular blue green chromis

1 Blenny that sifts sand

And hopefully another butterflyfish he did a great job at keeping the aptasia at bay.

Hopefully get a stick or two

And maybe some more zoos, I love them zoos, I'll be much more selective this time around.

Hope you all enjoy, year 3 in Reefing and loving it!

Now for pics

Nice man, what kind of light is that over your refugium?

It's a par 38 bulb with a clip on light holder, I have another light I might hang but this one works for now.
