I am new to the hobby and picked up a used Aqueon 90 gallon reef ready tank. I have the stand complete, the plumbing complete and was doing my leak tests and I can see the bottom of the overflow box where it hits the bottom of the aquarium is seeping. I am running the Herbie method and this could be a problem if I lost power for a period of time. I am cleaning the area really well with alcohol and looking to reseal it, but I am not overly optimistic its going to work given the limited surface area and pressures that will be in that area. Any tips or suggestions on how to resolve?

Thanks in advance!

Depended on how fast its seeping, if you lost power for an extended period of time I don't think the seeping would be your first concern. You'd have backup power to the tank before it would flood so your livestock wouldn't perish. With that said you could try stripping the silicone and resealing it. Easier to do now when the tank is empty :)

Silicone not good at bonding plastic to glass.
“Amazing Goop” available at Lowe’s and other places is Amazing

Is that safe for aquariums?

Have used it dozens of times without issue
