Corner stand needs new bottom piece

Is the bottom plywood on the stand structural?



The plywood had water damage so I tried to scrape off a layer on both sides and now it’s really thin. There’s a small hole all the way through. See pics.

My plan way to silicone the edges on the inside and paint all the inside with kilnz or something like it. Is that ok or should I try and figure out how to replace the plywood (Anyone in the Madison WI area want to cut it to fit for me lol)

There's a little structural support from what I can see. If it were me, yes - I'd replace it - and then take the opportunity to re-silicone, paint and waterproof the sucker.
