Cornerflows with media

Does it make sense or is it worth it to fill your corner flow with media? I was thinking of doing something that wouldn't be overly messy like bioballs. I figure a corner flow would work like a reactor since towards the bottom the flow is probably lower and you'd get nitrate removing bacteria.

I wouldn't put anything into my overflows.
If the flow slows down due to build-up over time, your tank can overflow and your sump will run dry.
