Corraline algae question

Girlfriend commented on it so figured I’d post it here. The corraline on my back glass is almost a straight line. Except in the middle, where oddly enough my HOB protein skimmer was. So it would be getting almost no light. And the sides. Directly under both drains.

That is correct. Calcium and light main ingredients for their growth
 
That’s what I was getting At. In the middle where it has actually grown up instead of in a straight line like both the other sides. It would have no light there, since my HOB protein skimmer hangs there and blocks the light.
 
Kinda starting to wonder if maybe the lights to bright for it to grow dither up. Viparspectra. Maybe they need to be turned down.
 
I’ve noticed that coralline tends to grow in medium to low par areas in my tank too. My tank is lit in zones. The areas where my par is highest has spotty growth vs the lower pare area. You can tell in the picture. The lower par area has coralline growing solid across the back of the tank, even shelving.
