Corraline algae rock in bucket

I bought a piece of live rock that has corraline algae on it, about a month ago but there’s been a lot of GHA in my tank so I wanted to wait to battle that. Will it still be okay to add this rock? It’s literally just in a covered bucket of water. Is the algae now probably dead? Does it die without light/heat?

It does need light and to be in a temp of 78F-82F

So it’s probably no good and I probably shouldn’t use this rock? It’s been in there for like a month now
