Correct drill bit for tank?

I can’t be much help other than I would honestly look for one specifically made for drilling tanks. With such a large expensive tank, it’s not worth saving a few bucks on a maybe
 
I wouldn't use that, it is more of a "multi-purpose" bit. I would use a brand new glass specific drill bit. There's plenty on Amazon and ebay. Use caution on the ship from, some sellers ship the bits from China which takes about 7-14 days.
 
I'd try it, but I'm willing to take bigger risks than most. I went to Glass-holes.com when I drilled my tank to get the proper things.

The only issue I had is that I failed to anticipate a slurry of glass dust getting under my tank trim.
 
That bit will work just fine (I had one until it grew dull). Just go slowly and use plenty of water.
