Hello there, I was in the middle of swapping out my two heaters. And I noticed all of this decay and buildup. I am scratching my head. Wondering what it all could be. Any ideas?. The old heaters were finnex and the new heaters are the same

Is the heating element busted open?

Ouch- hopefully you removed it or plan on

Yes just curious what’s causing it
mineral deposits. The potentially more concerning issue is the metallic elements that are often found in steel and which can be released in substantial quantities by a rusting device underwater.
