I have two btas in my 125 gallon tank. I just repositioned them a couple of days ago for better flow. I noticed both of them seem to have a darker color and appear to be stretching? At first I thought the larger one was splitting but now both are looking similar. The center and mouth are still colored and normal. It seems weird that both would split at the same time. The only other change to my take was removing Chemipure and replacing with purigen in my two 407s due to the appearance of HLLE with my tang.
I just want opinions on if this is possibly something else that needs to be addressed. 1331645F-E341-4DA5-B767-79E0D5A2311F.jpeg 1331645F-E341-4DA5-B767-79E0D5A2311F.jpeg

My BTA threatened to split when it first moved, and got really wide like this. It ended up calming down after a few days. Keep an eye out for a second mouth!

Its not uncommon for BTAs to split at the same time. They often split as a response to stress, not always the case though. I have had several of mine split within weeks of each other because of a stress event. Ive also had them split just because. Anemones are very strange creatures!

You moving them likely bothered them and its possible that the removal of the chemipure had a slight effect on the tank params causing the anemones to be a bit upset. From what i can tell from the pictures they look good though.

If the anemones were not moving when they were in "lower" flow, its likely they enjoyed that spot. Anemones move to where they want to be and stay there when they like it.

A bta will not form a second mouth when splitting. It will rip itself in half at the mouth and then the halves will heal around the ripped mouth creating two anemones.
