I bought this frag from another reefer a few months ago, he wasn't sure what it was. I'm trying to get an idea of how (i.e. what pattern) it's going to grow so I can move the frag before it totally encrusts the rock its on.

The pic shows what it looked like when I first got it (left) and now (3 months later).

One more question: the tips on the left side of the frag are kinda white and haven't growth much (there's still polyps there too, tough to tell in the pic), but the rest has. That's the side closest to the flow. Anything I should be worried about?

Any advice is appreciated, I don't have much experience w/ acros. Thanks!

The growth form and prominent PE suggests Acropora horrida to me. If so, it should grow in a bushy/branching pattern similar to what you already see. The light colored corallites aren't a problem and generally indicate an area of current active growth.

Had one that looked just like it a while back but I cant remember the name. Was a fast grower and when it was happy it was a brite green with arctic blue tips.

Great, thanks guys!

If it starts to table, then maybe A. Hyacinthus or A. Mirabilis (think ORA Red Planet). Might not know until it grows out a bit.
