Hello,
I have a 1200 liters system, with 18x54w T5 tubes. Using all ati tubes, 9 actinic, 2 purple plus and 7 aquablue spezial, PPFD reading with an apogee sensor set on sun mode, peaks to 290 umoles/s/m2 on the most illumineted coral.

Using 12 tubes all aquablue spezial, ppfd peaks to 380umoles.

I guess in the first tube mix there should be more PUR, but I'm also afraid there could be a larger part not detected by sensor and I'm afraid it could damage corals (mostly acros). What do You think? any body using a similar mix with mostly actinic tubes (not blueplus)?

Thanks.

Luca

380par isn’t too much for Acroporas, it’s actually just right, but you’ll need to acclimate anything that goes in there if it came from a lower par system, or if it’s a Montipora.

Plenty can grow just fine around 250, so I’d check with your source before you stick them in. I’ve never bleached a coral that came from a higher par system, but have when I took one from a lower par.

Edit: You’ll need to check your par meter to see how it was calibrated. It should list a correction factor for you.
