I have a IM 170 tank and I’m just curious is to what you all think if I could add a fish or two?

Current stocking list is:
7 chromis
3 orange anthias
1 flame hawk
1 yellow tang
1 blue streak wrasse
2 cinnamon clowns

Was looking to add:
Mandarin
One more of any tang, open to ideas based on what I have.

Do you think I’m set on my stocking list?

Do you already have the fishes you listed? How long has the tank been set up? Sounds like a reasonable stocking list, but don't plan to get the mandarin for at least 6-12 months.
You could definitely add a bristletooth tang...

Tanks been running for 6 months and yes the fish listed is what is in there now.
Have you seeded it with copepods at all? Tisbes are small enough to fit into a Mandarin's mouth ... Amphipods generally are too large.

No mandarin with flame hawk
Tomini tang would work

I was thinking of adding a powder brown tang, purple tang or hippo tang. Whatcha think?
hepatus grows fast, Purple can be a bully and Powder brown susceptible to ich and velvet

I would not add another Zebrasoma tang. If you absolutely want one, be prepared to manage/mitigate aggression until the yellow and the new one work out their territories...

Yeah I was wondering if the flame would cause problems since they would both sit on the rocks.
The mandarin does not perch like a hawk does. And I don't believe that a tank your size can't have both... You'll just need to get a mandarin that's aquarium conditioned and eating well, and watch for possible aggression. I had both in my previous 90 gallon with no issues.

I have 6 yellows with my tomini and none could care less about tomini

So stick with a bristle tooth if I were to get one?
Hippo might get too big for the tank, purple is a zebramosa, but powder brown is an Acanthurus and would be a better option than the purple, IMO.

Another fish you can look at is a foxface... if you don't mind another yellow fish.

But bristletooths are pretty cool fish too.
