Pollen season in the south and I’ve had the windows open, skimmer has been freaking out and over flowing lately, wondering if it’s related to the yellow dust covering everything outside (and inside). Skimmer has been tuned in and running for over a yr

Anything coming through the air intake will affect the foam head. Try putting an empty pill bottle upside down over your air intake. This will let it draw air from under the pill bottle and limit particles going directly down the tube.

If it sits flat and blocks air just cut slits into the top of the bottle so air can creep in to resume normal skimming. Typically when skimmers overflow something is in the water itself not air. If there isn't any air there won't be bubbles, so you've got somthing floating around in your water.

prob not coming through the air intake (sump is in the basement and no ready supply of outside air). Was wondering more about the pollen in the tank water upstairs.

Yeah I'm betting that's it assuming nothing else has changed.
