Hey guy, I have a 20gal little tank that's been cycling for about a month now. The only thing in it is a giant blood shrimp. I'm getting a pair of clowns for the tank and that's going to be the end of the fish in there. Then I'm going to start with corals. I dont have the best of lights on there but it's just as bright as our other coral tanks, if not brighter. I have 3 wavepoint led lights on it. I want something for the clowns to host but dont really know if the lights would be able to handle a torch for the clowns to host in. Let me know what you guys think :) thanks!

Clowns being hosted by euphyllia coral generally doesnt work out. The clowns try to love up on it and the coral doesnt take nicely to it and ends up dying. I've seen reefers with torches and hammers with tons of heads end up with a giant skeleton because their clowns loved it to death. Not always the case as I have seen some that tolerate it, but just wanted to give you a friendly heads up to keep a close eye so you dont loose a coral :)

Thanks, I'll definitely keep that in mind. I more than likely wont risk the light thing anyways since clowns dont NEED a host to be happy. Tank is too small for a nem anyways aha

Exactly what happened with mine, my clowns systematically went through and loved everyone of my hammers and frogspawns to death (Lovely wording BTW lol). Then they proceeded to go after my toadstool and duncans

I got lucky, mine love up on my Duncan colony but it doesn't seem to mind :)

We have a large toadstool that tolerates the clowns very well!
