So I'm trying to sleep at 2am and I start having these reef thoughts( that's only normal, right?). Anyway, I've been messing with my kessil over my nuvo 16 more times than I could remember, and I noticed an acan sprouting off a new head. As I looked closer, I could see that the new head was forming on the spot of the acan that got the least light, going towards a shaded spot. It is the first new head on the mother head to grow. Could it mean that the Coral itself is getting a bit too much light?(the mother head looks healthy and fat) or am I just imagining things? Because I feel like when corals are out in the open( I'll use acans for example) the new heads come from all around random spots around the mother. But for this specific frag, the only and first new head to grow is heading straight for shade.
Any thoughts?
