Hi team - I’ve just noticed these round, browny-green balls growing at the base of my Hammer coral (below and right of the new baby heads that are growing).

I haven’t seen them before and only noticed as he’s closed up for the night. They appear to have a small, white thing towards the bottom of them that made me think egg, & are c1-2mm in diameter. Known tank inhabitants are Clownfish and Banggai Cardinal pairs, red-legged Hermits, one Cleaner shrimp, Turbo snails, Black-footed Trochus snails, Dove snails and Stawberry Conch pair... Do these look like the eggs of any of these?

Thanks in advance :

Definitely not trochus eggs or cleaner shrimp as they both release their eggs or larvae in the water column.

Snail eggs I’ve seen are usually white dots in a clear circle or a string of white dots. Looks like the coral flesh to me.

Thanks - any idea what they could be? On reflection, they’re too big to be the eggs of anything I know of in the tank, and they’re in a very shaded place as the Hammer inflates about 2x from this pic during the day - so it seems unlikely to be my first bubble algae...

Thanks for coming back to me - the coral has been in the tank for 2 months and I’m 100% convinced those olive green balls weren’t there when it went it. It’s growing new polyps off the side, but round balls don’t seem to fit the growth pattern for Euphyllia. Equally, if it was bubble algae wouldn’t it be somewhere were it got light? I’m stumped

Bubble algae, maybe? Also it looks like it might be growing since it has what looks like new mini-branches growing off of it. Wish mine would grow....
Thanks - I wondered that, but they’re in a place with no light as the coral inflated in the day.
Also yes, he’s growing new polyps! Although I’ve read they almost always don’t make it as they don’t get any light
