Hi all,

So I have a DD 1200 tanks with 365l and 22kg of rock work.

Tank is almost 8 weeks old and has been cycled with ATM Colony.

Parameters have been steady throughout with latest readings:

Temp 26 degrees
Salinity 1.025
NO3 between 2-4 ppm
PH 8.2
PO4 between 0.01 and 0.04 ppm
Calcium 440 ppm
Magnesium 1320 ppm
Alk 7.8 Dkh

I do weekly 12% water changes with Tropic Marin Pro and currently only dosing Alk if it drops.

I have kept lights on 8 hours per day mainly blue to minimise Diatoms and algae and seem to be on top of it.

Recently I started to see green spots on the rockwork which does not rub off and is lime green. My understanding is this is green coraline algae and I would just like to check with others in the group to confirm my suspicions. This is starting to appear in spots on all parts of the rock and is same consistency and look all over.

Thanks in advance, hope this is enough info to go off.

im not sure, if its calcified maybe. They are super slow growing and do not spread that much, so its not an issue if it is

Thanks, oh it doesn't bother me so much I just like to know I am on the right track.

Appreciate the talk of the ugly phase is also a possibility but I have had effective clean up crew and fish that keep on top of the brown stuff which has burned off or been eaten along the way.
