Just one spot on his tail looks like it goes through to the othe side. I had him in half dose copper for two weeks didn't notice it till I put him in display.

I've moved this over to the disease forum where the diagnostic folks hang out. Sorry I can't be much help personally.

Pics aren't real clear but it looks more like Lymphocystis to me, but I'm not a fish desease expert. Following to learn more. :)

It's too hard to tell for certain. It could be lympho.

It could be ich, it could take a 1-2 weeks before you see it on other fish if you are dealing with ich that was recently introduced. Ich cycles slowly compared to some of the other parasites.

Have you recently added any fish without QT? Anything else "wet" added? Corals, LR, Sand, inverts?

To me that spot looks little large for ich and doesn’t seem to fit the shape of traditional ich. I would guess lympho but keep a very close eye on all of your fish.

In the future unless you are doing TTM (tank transfer method) you should run copper at a therapeutic range for 30 days.

I don’t think that’s ich.

You should know — arceye hawkfish are satanic little devils in a reef. I had one eat two gobies and a firefish, that were nearly as long as the hawk.

I had (incorrectly) assumed that it was like its docile flame hawk cousin. Nope.

I do love them, I just bought one for my highly aggressive 500 gallon wall tank with large angels, puffers, and a clown trigger — if that gives you an idea lol.

Thanks for looking the spot is bigger than a grain of salt. I will keep the other fish in QT for longer. That is the only spot I've seen on all 7 fish I have.

Thanks for the info I should have gotten some better advice on fish stock for my tank. The kid at LFS said he was good for me.
