I’ve had this white tail for about a month. There are also 2 yellow tangs and a foxface in the tank. No one else seems to have any spots. The fish isn’t showing any signs of being unhealthy. It’s eating and swing normally. The tank is also running a oversized UV at the correct speed for parasites. It was running faster for Dyno but I just slowed it down. It’s also running a rollermat, not sure if that helps with removal.

fish was QT at LF. It and the other tangs introduced to pre-existing tank with three year old fish. So who really know where it came from.

Man I hope you’re wrong

any chance it’s lymphocystis - or another external parasite (skin flukes)

There are more knowledgeable people on here that hopefully will respond with better assessment. Just knowing how prevalent ich is with tangs and the obvious spots.

I also would say it’s ich unfortunately

if the fish is eating and acting normally that’s a good sign though.

definitely recommend putting him in a QT so you can monitor

What are y’all thoughts on Medic from polylab ?
It won't do much for eradication. May be effective against free swimming stage of parasites.

Can you post a picture of the fish under white lighting?

If ich lives / puts eggs in the sand. Do bare bottom tanks get ich ? Should I remove as much sand as possible leave it in RO water while I treat the tank ?

I can home to take pictures of the ich but I couldn’t see none of them on any of the fish. Not sure if it was the time of day or what. But they all seemed fine.

so I decided to keep the UV at parasite killing speed and treat the tank with Polylab Medic as while as feeding them Selcon fish food.

To my limited chemistry knowledge the only ingredient in polylab medic is peroxide. Isn’t that pretty much H202 aka hydrogen peroxide

Do you have coral or inverts? Hypo can work.
I agree and to be honest I’m not really trying to wait and figure it out. I’m gonna be proactive to treat the whole tank for ich, if it’s not ich it’ll go away on its own, if it is it’s gonna go away due to the treatment
