Could this be the Trident announcement?

Testing alk is so quick and simple. I can’t imagine spending this much to automate a simple process. Ca/Mg are only needed once a week at most for me. Less than a minute to test Alk each morning when fish are fed. Never saw the appeal for this type of testing. Now if it did N&P. That is two tests I would value to see trends throughout the day. But not everyone’s lifestyle are the same.

It has been simply amazing controlling my alk, calcium, and magnesium with my Trident since January. I run a CaRx so my elements were reasonably stable prior to having the trident. I can tell you my swings were about 8.6 to 8.9

With Trident and DOS Control for supplementation, I have tightened alk to 8.7 to 8.8 on average. In the SPS world this is sensational.

Really excited to see how this develops here on out, but right now this just screams unnecessary extravagance to me.

The ongoing maintenance costs with reagents and calibration almost make it seem like Neptune has adopted a subscription model to their hardware. The cost to keep it running is almost to the point Neptune could release a program where you pay 150$ a year to rent a Trident with all necessary reagents and you would be better off.

The ongoing maintenance is a deal breaker for me. I’m not wasting my time boxing this sucker up and sending it in. I was definitely going to buy it at midnight but I’m passing on it now.

And just think in June 2020 you get to spend 150 dollars and prolly a week without your trident (but we won’t know that for another two months but we should buy one tonight) sounds like a way cheaper and better method then a ph probe

My alk is as steady as yours since February of last year( I noticed u didn’t mention calcium or magnesium in anything that mattered besides u can test for them)

Seems like a rip off to me upgrade ur apex do this do that it’s the best thing ever except for the two alk monitors already on the market

I’m glad u got the trident I’m glad it works for you but if you had to pay for it would you? Or would u go with something else?

Regardless of what many here have posted, I'm super excited and will make every effort to snag a Trident tonight at midnight. I've been testing my alk and calcium daily for nearly a year, so I can't wait to have automation take over and do multiple tests per day. And I personally don't think the reagents or 18-24 month maintenance costs are any problem.

In July of 2020 I plan on doing the service myself for 99 dollars according to what Terrance mentioned tonight.

My problem is the hassle of boxing it up and sending it in. I can’t believe this is the first of I’ve heard of this! If I didn’t read this on r2r, I would have ordered it tonight. I even listened to the FB live chat just now and there was no mention of this 18-24 month service.
