So i got a 30 gal reef tank at a good price and im wide open. My problem is I went and got me a tiger pistol shrimp and watchmen goby and now what i thought was a good sand bed is now pushed all to one side of tank so almost half my tank is bare so should i push sand back into place? Or add some new sand? I thinking off adding so any input would great.

My Tiger pistol does the same thing. I found that giving them more rocks to crawl under was the best solution. Now I have about 1 inch of sand in the back of my tank and 3 inches in the front

With each weekly water change, I vacuum my sandbed, and in turn smooth it out. Figure this way it keeps my pistol shrimp and goby interested, they are having to redig their pathways.
Though, I do think it might tick them off a bit, since they seem to make bigger mounds each time.

Be careful of them! Mine loved to steal my corals, no matter of the size. If you plan on having some frags make sure they are out of reach or they will become another building block for them.
As sand goes, add more or they will just do it again over night!
