Could use some help from the pros

I think i will remove the GFO for a little while and see where my phos ends up. what do you think would be a good point to start intermittently removing phos? If it gets above ???

It’s really depends on your N03 level. Nitrate needs to be higher than your phosphate. There’s a limit to this though. If your N03 sits at 5ppm, your p04 should be around trace or 0.02. A little higher or lower is fine.

If your N03 went to 40, your p04 could be as high as 1.00 and still be okay. Just not ideal though.

You’ll hear sometimes this loosely called the “redfield ratio”, though it’s really not directly related.

If N03 is kept above P04, your chances of having nuisance algae issues is greatly diminished.

Dissolved organic carbons are byproducts of photosynthesis, both corals and macro produce DOC. There are numerous compounds that comprise DOC, most are impossible t9 measure by hobbiest. A yellow tint to water is one indicator 9f DOC.

Wondering why are you dosing Iodine daily? Does your tank consume that much?
