Got this little frag at the LFS for $10 but I'm pretty new to sps, any Idea?

If I had to guess, I would say Montipora Digitata. Really hard to know for sure without seeing it grow out and even then, it can be hard.

Maybe one from the front glass. But my guess will probably be the same.

It has a similar growth pattern to a montipora setosa.

My guess is montipora spognodes. Hard to tell until it grows out more. Even then, it could be difficult to distinguish.

Edit: Nice frag for $10 either way. Most montipora are fast growers. Keep parameters stable and it should grow up quickly :)

So far i have three different opinions
Montipora Digitata
montipora setosa
montipora spognodes
I take it its almost impossible to tell the difference especially at this size?
Are all three care requirements similar?

Care requirements are similar for all three. It's definately a monti, just difficult to tell which at this stage. Start it low and move it up every week or two so it can adjust to your lights. I keep most of my montis about half way up in the rock work. I also hit them with a decent amount of indirect/turbulent flow.

Yeah it does, Im not sure exactly what makes a mind trick a mind trick but it is green with red polpys. I really like the contrast!

Mind trick has blue or purple new growth. Mind also kinda bubbled up in the middle and the tips were blue like yours is showing.

Looks more like a chili pepper monti. They encrust but also form weird patterns as frags.

Chili pepper Monti looks dead on! The green is brighter or just a lighter shade then on the mind trick. Thanks!
Are they a fast grower like most montipora?
