Could you simultaneously dose 2-part, Kalkwasser, and All For Reef?

So, hypothetically, could you dose small parts of 2-part, Kalkwasser, and TM All for Reef and maintain a stable tank? Has anyone combined 2 or more different additives before and found success?

All those additives do, in a different fashion for each, the same thing with minimal perks between each method of action.

Which one you choose should be based on consumption.

Why? Because I have them all. I’m considering a very slow and measured attempt to use all three in one of my tanks to see how things go.

I want the PH boost from KW but the other minor elements in AFR. I have 2-part and just thought it may be a little experiment. I have four tanks and would only attempt this on one system.

Up to you in the end but I don’t see any benefit. Maybe the kalk and A4R but you’re likely to have a terrible time trying to dial each one in. Especially because alkalinity in A4R isn’t readily available when dosed.

I think it's a lot simpler and easier to do one at a time till you are left with the one you want. They all mostly do the same thing except that all for reef has trace and kalk raises ph...

I dose kalk for pH boost (triple the amount at night vs day) and then A4R during the day so far so good. I also have micro amounts of mag going all day but no other 2 part. However it could be useful for adjustments if your levels stray but for dosing purposes it might overcomplicate it

I have done kalk and 2 part for years and in my most recent system kalk and all for reef.

Reason being the pH boost of kalk but I don’t dose via ato since it’s too variable, so I dose a fixed amount of kalk a day under the min evap rate I get (4L a day is safe for me) and then satisfy the rest of the demand with either 2 part or all for reef.

I did kalk and 2 part for maybe 8 years and kalk and a4r for maybe 3 years. It’s easy as any dosing and the kalk is very inexpensive.

it is very common to use kalk + other dosing once you start hitting evap limit. People have been doing it for decades especially with calcium reactors for the ph boost

I’m my case for the ph boost and ease of kalk, refilling a 50g brute once every couple months and how inexpensive it is, but once your limited by evaporation it’s easy to just add in 2 part or a CaRx and particularly because calcium reactors tend to lower pH it’s nice to get the bump from kalk. Not a new thing by any means.

I had no idea this method was so unknown now!

Yes you can, you will find Kalk will provide more cal than alk and so you can just dose alk and be fine,

I would say there are signifcant perks for each option, but yes I agree there woudn't be a reason to dose all three

As folks have noted, it is certainly fine to sue them all at once. The same is true of any other calcium and alk methods.

I am doing kalk as my standard but also part B (alk) alternatively when my calcium naturally starts going higher so that the calcium will slowly head back south. I have been told, and experienced, that the reef consumes alk slightly faster. Outside of these fine tunings, I agree with everyone…generally a waste of effort

Yes, but I’d only do it if you’re looking to use up the TM since you already own it and don’t want it to go to waste. Kalk + 2 part is more than enough though.
