It's kinda of hard to see due to the light flicker and my phone's auto focus, but I have a green birdsnest and a purple polyp birdsnest that have some spots where they look stripped or bare. The green birdsnest is shown. Again, hard to see but tip is bare. I have been dosing neonitrate to help keep up nitrates because they were undetectable by my salifert kit. I am going to stop with that. Also read that it could be iodine or some other trace element. Please help.

Tank Parameters:
Phos .02
Nitrate 1.5ppm
Alk 7.6
Mag 1300
Calc 420
Salinity 1.026

How do you check your salinity? Reason is I just recalibrated my refractometer due to being off. I started noticing a few corals acting weird and that's when I start double checking test results. My salinity was really at 1.023 and thought it was 1.026.

Just something to consider. ;Happy

Best of luck.

Refractometer, I will go recalibrate right now and check. You could be on to something

Salinity might have been a little lower after calibration, but just 1.025, in fact I didn't even have to calibrate it was on.

Maybe monitor to see if anything is nipping at them at this point. Do they look like scrap/or bite marks?

Based on your original post it was indicated that there is very low NO3 due to not showing up on the Salifert test. Look into getting that up, but maybe look into another means if Neo Nitrate is questionable. ;)
