Is this basic algae covering up my zoas? Seems overly aggressive. Want to treat appropriately

It seems to. My low nitrate is new. Working on goals dosing to supplement if not replace my in tank refugium and finally t the point where I don’t need my fuge light on 24/7

I would try and get the algae issue under control before dosing. Algae could throw off your actual numbers. I like to use a turkey baster and blow all that stuff off and put filterfloss in overflow to remove as much as possible followed by water change.

I haven't had an algae issue until recently. I'm trying to hopefully get to the point where vodka dosing can replace my in-tank refugium. So the instability is mine... and expected while I try to dial things in. I've stopped running my fuge light 24/7 since my nitrates bottomed out last week. Last 35% WC was 4 days ago. Todays numbers are:

Alk - 11.9 (Red Sea Pro)
Nitrate - 5.7
Phos - .15
Salinity - 35
