I just covered 6 of my 16 leds. I covered all of the whitw and left the 10 blue leds uncovered. Is there any problems with this? I just love the look

How did you cover them? Also, which LED unit are you using? DIY or commercial fixture?

My first thought is potential heat issues, depending on how you covered them.

I just used paper and some tape, its close to led but isn't touching it

Might not want to do that. Check for heat on that while your thinking about it. Electrical tape might have been a better idea. But, why not just buy more Blue LEDs and install them?

How easy would it be to add more leds and my tank is already really bright, mushrooms can't grow on bottom unless they are placed vertically. I have 16 led watts over a one foot, 8 gallon tank, about a 6 gallon display

I don't believe you need to add, are you able to replace some exsisting White LEDs with Blues?
