Covers for overflow

Hi I was going to try and cover my dual overflows after having a clown that has decided he loves hanging out in there. Any suggestions on material to use/designing something for a DIY project. Is there a commercially available acrylic cover? Thanks!

acrylic will warp. use polycarbonate.

I used plastic gutter guard from Lowes. $2 for a roll

I made polycarb covers for my corner overflows. Instead of the fish jumping into the overflow and needing to be netted out, they jumped onto the lid and died …… no more lids. Instead I used gutter guard to raise the height right up to the screen tank cover so no space to jump though.

I like that idea! Need any other special tools/equipment to do it? I am also doing this to help with anemone-proofing for an upcoming purchase lol

Yes, exactly. I secured mine to the curved overflow grate with small zipties.
