My cow fish is swimming in circles on his side on e top of the water. He was swimming fine yesterday any help?

I fed him some food by hand and he ate the he swam down and around the lower part of the tank to eat I turned the two powerheads of could he just have been tired?

They are not great swimmers when small and need a low flow area to hang out. Can you post a pic of him?

Im not home right now. I was told that he is swimming down twords the bottom but his tail is like floating now. I will post pics when im home

Just got home he looks normal now and is swimming the right way down towards the bottom.

Could he just have been tired from the power heads?

Very possible. Many times, they are too skinny when they arrive at an LFS and need to be fattened up a bit. They also can easily be out-competed by other tank mates when small and should be target fed 2 to 3x per day. They are omnivores and LOVE veggies. If you can offer some on a clip that should help as well. Ours would eat anything, including nori, but especially loved macro algae.

I've been feeding seaweed on a clip everyday and I hand feed him mysis/ brine shrimp twice a day.
