Thank you

this shows up when monetaria is searched. It’s in the same family and the money cowrie. There are a few that look very similar I think.
that's the main, I have to figure out what exactly is, to be sure can I feed it (is it able to find food in my system), also some cowries aren't reef safe, some are carnivorous. It's under 1" long I believe, when I go back at home I'll measure it.
@35ppt is right isn't monetaria sp at all. I can't find any pattern like the monetaria.
I'll try to measure it and during handling it I'll try to take a shot under it, it will show then almost all the shell, to see it clearly.
At the moment isn't stressed much like I see because it cover it self all the time, only when I touch the container it is, only then it take off half of the mantel which it put back in a half/1 minute. It don't crawl all the time, stay mainly on the sides, don't look for hiding spots (have one big LR in there, to provide where to hide if it looking for). It don't show me at this point to be predator (usually they hide), when the lights are bright stay calm.
I had before cowrie and it die wasn't known the SP, and probably it loose the battle looking for food, was non stop moving in the tank like looking for food.

The Money Cowrie is Monetaria moneta. True, they don't always have the ring but when lacking the ring they'll often have gold color not stark white. But beyond that the flesh does not resemble M. moneta.

Sorry I don't have your depth of knowledge and I love how different their mantles can be, my joint favouite snail. :)

I just call em that because that’s what they were sold to me as from reefcleaners. I didn’t realized how many similar subspecies there were of these! The OP snail doesn’t look to have the gold ring so it may be one of the other subspecies. In any case I bet they have the same feeding requirements and if it were me I’d put it in the tank and see how it does.

I was think is Cypraeidae something (almost all cowries) , and it's from the Monetaria SP I hink, looking now the photos from the link I post (in the 1st post), now I'll try to take it out w/o stressing it too much, and if it go in the shell completely to take some photos from the bottom of it. But yes, I see ring like around it, so should be Monetaria SP.

In any case I bet they have the same feeding requirements and if it were me I’d put it in the tank and see how it does.

The don't have same feeding needs for sure, it's very rear to see few which differ to ave the same feeding behavior. That's the reason I'm looking for ID to get the exact info about. Always I do that when I have something new unknown to me. From the Monetaira SP have 2-3 (don't member) which are carnivorous. But the list just from the Monetaria SP have more than 45, almost all (not all)Shells: CYPRAEIDAE EROSARIINAE
Super Family: CYPRAEOIDEA Click on the thumbnails to see mainly the shells (hundreds of shells and all different

That's just partially rubbed off sharpie. :)

@35ppt I just got that photos, all possible sides: PHOTOS
some photos, the rest ->here<-
And yes, I saw the ring we are talking now. Just never got yet any monetaria sp yet, and still can't match it completely to any of the SP there :( and not sure for which one to read about, they aren't completely the same on them dinner menu :(
I don't know is it adult or no, and it's almost 22-24mm long about 15mm side high near there. Or I'm just blind and don't see it between the many photos on that website
