Thought it had been hanging around a few acan frags that i could not figure out why they wher losing heads...Is this a rouge cowrie?? I thought they just ate algae?? I have had many diff one's over the years, never had any do this thou.

depends on the type of cowrie we have a couple that we were told were reef safe and I guess they would be if ya didnt have and lps or softies....lol They are a beautiful cowrie but now live in a tank by themselves. And i've heard issues with deer and chestnut cowries. Here is a pic of ours

most cowries in general are oppurtunistic. Even those that feed on algae can develop a taste for corals. I had 2 deer cowries in mine. One ate algae the other ate coral, go figure:hammer:
